FAITH
Hello Everyone!
This
month I want to talk about Faith!
In
Romans 1:17 “For in the gospel a righteousness from
God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from
first to last, just as it is written: The righteous will
live by faith.”
From
the moment you asked Christ to come into your heart, you
gave a commitment. You chose to believe there is a God,
and that He will live inside you from then on.
Over
the years, the definition of being saved has become twisted
and changed. It has become “dress like this, act
this way” which plays a major role in the reasoning
behind backslidden Christians. They have chosen to rebel
against the so called “Rules of Christianity”
when in reality, there are no rules, only a choice. The
Lord has freely given you the decision of whether or not
you want to believe in Him. He isn’t a God of rules
and regulations in order to get to heaven. He’s
a God who gives you a free will.
You
may say “I’m really starting to doubt that
there is a God. He never seems to answer my prayers.”
Or just plain “God isn’t real.” Can
you really prove there is no God? You can no more prove
there is no God than I can prove that I am from the 25th
century. Yes, the process of faith can be difficult, and
you may doubt He is real. It’s human nature to rationalize
everything. God isn’t based on rationalization,
but on Faith. If a friend walked up and told you that
she/he got a new dog. You have faith in them that they
are honest, and you believe them. God says in his word
that He is real, and it is up to you to have the faith
in Him that He is real.
Let
me ask you a question. What is Faith to you? Based on
the definition, it means a strong belief in a supernatural
power or powers that control human destiny, complete confidence,
and loyalty or allegiance to a cause or belief. Being
a Christian is not a side thing or an act you put on only
when you go to church or are around those who believe.
It’s a full devotion to the one who created you,
and a confidence that He is forever here for you no matter
the circumstances. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith
cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
The more time you spend reading God’s word, praying,
and listening to the teachings of His word, your faith
will begin to build. Why wait? Begin now.
Thank
you for taking the time to read this article. I will have
many more to come!
