TESTIMONY
DISCLAIMER FOR MIRACLES
In order to protect themselves legally, most of the revivalists
of the last century began disclaiming responsibility for
the accuracy of the testimonials printed in their literature.
W.V. Grant developed a statement which was typical of
those published in the major magazines. It read as follows.
"All printed testimonies have been reproduced
as reported, with editing being limited to construction
of grammer. We assume no legal responsibility for the
veracity or permanency of reported healings, miracles
or other happenings. All supernatural events and blessings
are contingent upon spiritual condition, relative to the
individual, and any deviation from the intended Divine
plan could result in mental, physical, and/or spiritual
setback. (John 5:14)."
John
5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple,
and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no
more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
